Face MASK

Tonight I decided to try a cleansing face mask. Mad brought me an Aloe mask from Korea awhile back and I never bothered to use it. Tonight I found it collecting dust in my medicine cabinet and decided to give it a try. Once I figured out how to get it on my face, I found that it would actually make a good hallowe'en costume. Its quite frightening. I know I could definitely scare some small children with this thing. Heck, I even scared myself in the mirror as I walked by.

Time to take this thing off and see how beautiful I am...

Dream in High Park

Tonight I went to see a Midsummer Night's Dream in High Park with my cousin Mad and her two kids. (She actually has 3 kids but you wouldn't know it as Stephanie rarely makes an appearance. I think her grandparents have officially adopted her.)

Mad packed a lovely picnic an we sat and ate before the show. It was actually quite a romantic spot. Many people brought picnics and blankets and even wine! No camera allowed though so no pics to post, sorry. Except for my lack of warm clothing and my poor bony butt, it was a great experience. The kids loved the play (who likes Shakespeare at 11 years old?) and we all had a nice evening together.

Next year I'll be sure to go again, maybe with a REAL date.

Let's go to the EX!

Sunday I decided to take my niece and nephew to the Ex. The Ex has always been one of my favourite Toronto activities and the kids had never been there before so I was excited to introduce them. Luckily by the time we got there, the rain stopped and it was sunny and VERY hot! First stop was the food building where I introduced them to all of my friends: Tiny Tom's Donuts, Maggie's Hot Dogs, and St. Louis' Wings. They even managed to find a friend of their own, Mini Melts. It was one of Michael's favourites and I had never tried it before so he made me buy him one "just so I could try it". After two bites, he started negotiating with me so that he could somehow be left with the rest, but my spoon managed to get in there at least 2 or 3 more times. After some more Food Building snacks, we hit Kid's World and the Olympic Village and even managed to fit in a quick trip to the Horse Building, Arts and Crafts and the midway where the kids tried to play a couple of the games. (Sorry, no prizes this time.)

An exhausting day in the hot sun but well worth it. The kids and I had a great time. Hopefully now they will add the CNE to their list of favourites too.

And then there were 2...

As per my previous post, Saturday was Ev's big day. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a wedding. Ev's OCD really paid off, every detail was taken care of, from the decorations to the perfectly matching bridesmaids (good job Mel and Mae!) to the deeeleeecious food. My favourite part was seeing everyone together having a good time. The DJ was awesome and it felt like university days again with all of us together on the dance floor. Just like the old days, Huddy came stumbling out of there and we had to help him get into his cab. Hopefully he made it home in one piece!

Way to celebrate your official entry into married life Mrs. Milner!! Sally, looks like its just you and me now...

Attack of the Green Whale!

My friend Caroline is pregnant and she's at that stage where she's feelin' "whalish" and was walking around Saadia's house telling us how big she looked. Well Caroline, this pic is for you. Just wanted to illustrate for you what a REAL whale looks like. You'll notice that in this picture, you cannot even tell that Caroline is pregnant at all.

Who's the whale now?!!

Manis with Menalle!

Today I met Mel for pre-wedding manicures at Peony and then garlic shrimp at Salad King. As I said to Mel at dinner, the great thing about Salad King is that it never disappoints!! The garlic shrimp were crisp and tasty and the Panang Curry was creamy and deeeleecious. After dinner we walked home (to try and walk off some of that food,) and chatted about all kinds of girl things: our favourite Entourage characters (Ari and Eric), our favourite Entourage episodes and when the next season of Entourage would be available. As you can tell, we are Entourage FANATICS! I didn't think I'd like the show after watching some episodes on tv but when you start from the beginning, you just get sucked in. Those guys are really hilarious. They really do have great lives, especially Vince. My favourite thing about him is that he gets to be driven everywhere. He never ever drives himself. His friends always do the driving for him. I know that if I became rich and famous I would do the exact same thing. Oh wait, that's right, I already do. A BIG thank you to my Entourage. I may not be able to buy you your own Aston Martins, but I can hug it out anytime you want!!

Happy Birthday Sorianos!

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday's of Ron and Glenn. Ron is Sally's boyfriend and Glenn is Mae's husband. They are not related but it just so happens they have the same last name AND same birthday, just one year apart. As per our birthday tradition, the boys hosted the party and provided all of their "favourite" food (bbq, chinese, samosas, and waffles and cake for dessert) and we provided all of our favourite things as gifts. I gave them both my favourite popcorn, and my favourite books (a football book for Ron and a bbq cookbook for Glenn). Unfortunately Chapters didn't make my delivery in time so I'll have to give it to them next time I see them. Happy Birthday boys, thanks for all the fun and games!

The "other" aunt...

I just thought I would post this picture of Charlotte and my sister. Its often how I feel when my sister won't stop bugging me.

Family bbq!

Taking vacation really makes you lose track of time. That spa day was actually on Thursday. Friday, my sister and I ran a bunch of errands with my mom and then took her to the driving range where we all attempted to hit the balls. Then we headed to my brother's place for a cousins only family bbq. I think it may have been one of the first family parties without all the "adults" (aka my aunts and uncles,) there. There was the same amount of food though. My brother outdid himself by making steak, chicken and pork plus all kinds of tasty vegetable side dishes.

For dessert, my cousin Carol made Tiramisu, Chocolate Cupcakes and the best Chocolate Pavlova I've ever had. I had two pieces and then ran out of room for the other desserts.

The best part of family time is playing with all the kids. As my niece Jessica says, "you are so immature Aunt Diana". Personally, I think this just makes me a better aunt.
